Blueprint won a competitive design and build tender to carry out the complete refurbishment of all areas in this busy university catering facility. The design rationalised the outdated facility making use of efficiencies in modern catering methods to allow a much enlarged servery area offering greater choice and flexibility to the customer. The building work included stripping the building back to a bare shell, structural alterations and a full energy efficient services infrastructure. New services included power, gas, water, drainage, heat recovery ventilation systems and full data provision including CCTV and alarms. The installation comprised of new coldrooms, stores, kitchen, wash-up and feature servery area including all associated equipment, shopfitting and finishes. All of this was completed on time and on budget to the delight of both the university and the caterer who has seen a considerable increase in sales since the work was completed.
