The requirement was to re-design the existing refectory so it would be able to accommodate up to 1500 students a day. The kitchen was designed to support other retail outlets around the campus.

We were required to create a high-quality refectory space that would welcome students, staff and visitors in a comfortable environment whilst respecting and enhancing the listed status and historic fabric of the building. The circulation patterns, user orientation, acoustic quality and lighting all needed to be improved.
